Very Collab Party at Zouk

I'll be judging a design competition at the the last Very party for 2008 at Zouk called Very Collab. The competition is heaps of fun. Goes something like this:

Competition - 3 design teams will be provided with a theme on the spot to produce in 1 hour
x1 30 sec motion clip (720 x 576 pixels)
x1 A3 flyer artwork

Theme: Celebration of Zouk in the House with Defected CD launch
Art Flyer & Motion Clip Title: Zouk in the House
Defected Soundtrack: Talking Walls by Julian Jabre

Mechanics - Designers will have 15 minutes to upload their own images/clips prior to competition & run through the stock images available in the laptops.
They must use the Defected track given & the working title. Final works will be judged and shown on video wall.

Team A: Rebel Alliance
Team B: Black List
Team C: Nifty

Judges - Quincy & Jasmine, Ginette, Chris from Asylum

On another note, I have been asked to do an ad for Whisper for Cleo mag. haha. it's so brilliant, I HAVE to do it. It's proposed that I am at the DJ console, I think, free from the shackles of thick menstrual pads holding me back from imposing my music unto the unsuspecting crowd. I get P&G products in return, but no monies. So i guess, my christmas presents are sorted.

Korean drummer steals show! & KLF & The Shamen

i may be a bit late on this one, but still i gotta share it!
i've deduce that this guy was prolly from a surf punk band, but had to try to make a living and thus, joined a mainstream ballad belting band, still he never gave up and tried to assert his musical influences on the band. good head banging breakdown!

these two (which i love), just for shits and giggles.

I love this, it's so dated, you can tell by the giant mobile phone he uses in the beginning, that was "early bling" i guess.

Nice Boy London cap, doode. way to go. haha

from the edge of the deep green sea

Over the weekend, I'd been to my favourite island with 3 of my best pallys and my shining light. I had some of the best time of my life, under the warm sun, feet in the golden sand and hair in the sparkling water. every time i go there, i feel as though i never want to return. that i want to live there for the rest of my life, and time really stands still, sparkling still under the sparks and giant giant fluffy clouds. i stand there taking it all in and H. holds me close and I never want to let go.

here are some of the snaps. they can never do justice to the place and time, but they let me hold on to that sparkling feeling if just for awhile.

Frogskins by Oakley

I was invited by radical sneaker store Leftfoot, owned by my fabulous friend Kevin, to customise a pair of Frogskins for their relaunch. I love Frogskins, so lightweight!

so i took a marker and made the Frog into a Zebra, which I'm pretty pleased with cos i can't draw for nuts.

took this snap with my pathetic mobile phone cam. :(

My friends Mark SBTG, Alvin and William of :Phunk Studio were invited to each customise a pair too. the launch is on friday at The Cathay at 8pm, 4th of July.
